The Persian Gulf island of Qeshm, some 1,500 square km in area, lies on  Iran; southern shore along the upper part of the Street of  Hormuz. Due 
to its geographical location, the island enjoys easy access to all Persian Gulf neighbouring countries. It is situated only 60 km from the Omani port 
of Khosab and 180 km from UAE; port of Rashia.
Qeshm is holding a population of nearly 100,000 of locals.
Qeshm island; weather is warm and humid. Average temperature is 26 centigrade with a minimum temperature of 16 centigrade in January and a 
maximum 38 centigrade in July. Rainy season in Qeshm is between late October and late April. The average annual rainfall on Qeshm island is 
120 mm.
The island; governing body is Qeshm Free Zone Organization which is headed by a three men Board of  Directors.The organzation is in charge of
the affairs of all state-run bodies on Qeshm island.
    
Contrary to Kish, Qeshm is mainly an industrial zone. So far more than 70 industrial companies have started operations in Qeshm, mainly in the
areas of chemicals, home appliances, electronics, textile, woodworks and agricultural machinery. Exports hit US$ 10m in 1997.
 
Therefore, the said Island benefits very appropriately,with the fulfillment of potentially
needed manpower,
for meeting the needs, sensed in the fields of activities,  production,
and industry. 
 

Qeshm Island enjoys from the beauties of nature,up to  a miraculous extent. It is because 
of the said reason that many investors, and tourists have been lured by Qeshm Island.


The rules have been regulated in the economic free zones, and the Qeshm Island, in such a way that appropriate grounds would be provided for investments in the said region. Tax and duties exemptions, discounts on custom
duties for the imported goods, in addition to removal of limitations from numerous imported items, in addition tomany of other activities, have been materialized so that these regions would be transferred into the Exportation 
and Re-Exportation poles.
